Fourteen years ago, Blu took hip-hop by storm. Along with Exile, he gave us the modern-day classic Below The Heavens and we've all been hooked ever since. On episode 97, we sit down with Blu to discuss his lengthy catalog and career.

Blu shares stories about rapping for Suge Knight, almost signing to Death Row Records and signing with Warner Brothers. He breaks down some of our favorite tracks off Below The Heavens, working with so many great producers over the years and the making of his latest album, The Color Blue. There were a lot of laughs and surprises while speaking with Blu, and we think you'll agree with us when we say, this is one of our best interviews, ever.

For our Florida listeners, we teamed  up with the Laughing Spree Fest - Florida's biggest comedy festival at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton December 3-4. We'll be giving away tickets to a few lucky listeners to this mega comedy festival featuring 20 performers including Bryan Callen, Jim Norton and Andrew Schulz. Tickets on sale now and if you enter promo code TIPLAUGH, you'll save $5 off each ticket.

And now, our interview and tribute with our boy, Blu.

On November 2, 2016 The "Take It Personal" Podcast was launched as the Golden Era and boom-bap-focused podcast to beat all Podcasts. Broadcasting all the way live from Del Boca Vista and brought to you by the Philaflava crew, who founded one of Complex Magazine's "Top 10 Most Influential Hip-Hop Message Boards," well as authoritative subject matter blogs, T.R.O.Y and "Steady Bloggin'," the show and its brand of witty nuance and authentic reverence is here to fill the nostalgia void in your heart, and, as Chino XL once said, "Here To Save You All." Come to where Exit 33 meets Memory Lane at the Honeycomb Hideout, as DJ 360 and co-hosts Jason Gloss, Aaron Wade, Roger the Announcer and Kevlar take you on a sonic voyage from past to present and back again!
